During the height of the pandemic there were many federal and state waivers to provide greater flexibility in the application process for public benefit programs. However, due to expiration of the public health emergency on May 11, 2023 many of these waivers have expired. Below is what remains.
NYS Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program (PDF)
SNAP and Cash Assistance: A signature waiver has been extended through June 30, 2024. This waiver allows SNAP and Cash Assistance applications to be filed over the phone (via 718-557-1399).
